Enough is enough!

While we are all fighting against Covid-19, Black Lives Matter protesters are fighting against another deadly pandemic that has sadly pervaded the world for centuries- racism.

As George Floyd's tragic death hit the news, we are all once again confronted by the systemic racism that permeates the world. It is a global disease that is deeply rooted in all our systems; social, economic, civic, and it also affects our own behaviours.

While I have experienced racism as an Asian British, I acknowledge it is not to the same extent as my fellow African Brits or African minorities in other countries. To support the Black Lives Matter movement, I have compiled some lists of resources for those who wish to learn more and to help with the eradication of this disease. I have also added links for those who are affected and are seeking help or assistance. I will be updating these, adding and taking away, as it fits with time.

As I am UK-based, I wanted, as much as I could, draw together information from the UK and Ireland. I have also added links to sources outside of the UK and Ireland.

As you can see, the movement has caught on here and in other parts of the world, however, the whole world needs to open up honest conversations about race and inequalities. Changes are happening but it is a fight that everyone, from black to white, needs to take part in.
